Why does Russia have high prostitution rates?

Because of:
1- Economic problems;
2 - Bad cultural norms & collapsing family norms;
3 - High rate of divorce &wrong behavior of Russian husband (refer to the statistic I mentioned in one of my question);
4 - Alcohol & soon death of Russian men;
5 - Highly corrupted government;
6 - Dictator President Putin & his friends.

They aren't any higher than in other eastern european countries. Its legal, culturally acceptable plus there are a lot of rich men and poor women.

*EDIT* You can go to any major club in Russia and find hookers freelancing or mafia controlled. its not at all hidden away. Its quite shocking for an American to see this blatantly and its quite more acceptable in Russia than in America. I'm not saying its completely acceptable and technically legal but the rule of law in Russia is more loosely applied than here.

Prostitution in Russia is illegal but it is not a serious crime, also there is no reference to the subject in the Russian constitution

Since you said "RUSSIA" that is the whole country. Women out number men by a large amount. So tell me what the total population of Russian women is and tell me what percent of them you think are prostitutes ? Hmmm? I question that? Don't believe everything you read...

More women over there sleep with men for free with the intention of them becoming their husband. Over there a woman is judged by getting married, it doesn't matter how successful she is in a career, she will still not be respected being single and 30.

Why Russians don't use to ask silly questions about other countries?
