In terms of people and government would you call Russia a conservative or a liberal country?

It depends by whose standards you go when defining conservative. I would say Russia is mostly conservative, except on a few issues. Abortion does not have such a social stigma in Russia and no one would think of outlawing it. Gay marriage is strongly opposed by people from all walks of life. There is a moratorium on the death penalty, but opinion polls show that most people actually want it reinstated. Any crap like "affirmative action" simply wouldn't fly in Russia... Any other issues left to discuss?
