What's the symbolism behind the Red Star for Russia??

What's the symbolism behind the Red Star for Russia??

Red is for socialism, the revolution, the blood of the people. The 5 pointed star represents either the 5 inhabited continents or the 5 social classes.

It has to do with the Russian Army.

The Red Star in Russia today isn't represent any ideological sense and the Russian Army use it as a respecting sign to the Red Army which destroyed the fascism in the World War 2.

yes,I agree with Mervent9, now-days we don't put any Mason's or revolution sense in this symbol. It's just part of state symbols. u can read about historical issues at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_star
