A question about kosovo claiming independence, what do Russians think about this?

It's U.S. hypocrisy at it's best - saying that Kosovo is such a special case and that South Ossetia, Abkhazia, and Transnistria are completely different. Maybe the fact that two of these areas belong to America's loyal dog, Georgia, has something to do with it?
As for Kosovo's independence, they got what they wanted - an unstable country in the Balkans that all of its neighbors hate, and whose only economic asset is unrestricted drug-trafficking. The only reason there aren't any long range ballistic missles there yet is because the natives would probably steal them in a day.

if Albanians want to have their own country - why don't they return to Albany?

I don't personally care about this situation but their claiming independence is a violation of International Law

first, the integrity and sovereignty of Serbia - why do countries (the US, the UK and several others) support this move? if there is a big population of one ethnicity in a region - it does NOT mean that they have the right to claim independence

second, Albanians can move back to Albany and have everything they want there

I am happy that at least on this issue, Russia's position has been very constructive.

I am disguisted by the US and EU policy of double standards! Those idiots don't understand that they've opened the Pandora's box and Kosovo's independence is the beginning of the end for Europe. We are now witnessing how an ethnic group who already have their country - Albania - can bite off a piece from the country they live in - just because they want it.

Very soon, we will be witnessing chaos and possibly war in Abkhazia, South Osetia and - what frightens me most - my own Ukraine, in Crimea.

I 'm complitely agree with Mr.Speaker.Crimea is another place at the World's map which could declare it's independence out of any Laws.

Great answers Misanthropist and Speaker! I am so scared that the next claim Albanians will make will be the western part of Macedonia (my country)! Just because they tend to breed like rabbits and population wise they have grown exponentially compared to the Macedonians who on average have less than two kids per woman. The way their logic works is: move to a country, breed as much as you can and then claim is as your own!!!!

So I guess British Columbia should be Chinese?
