How is St. Petersburg, Russia, similar to other western capitals? (including the US)? I think St.Pete is very unick city. You can compare it to Venice to some degree because Saint Petersburg is built on what originally were more than 100 islands created by a maze of rivers, creeks, canals, gulfs, lakes and ponds and other bodies of water that flow into the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the Neva river. The capital of Russia is Moscow. It isn't the capitol and it is in the east. Howvere, it very religiously based, much like Vatican city in Romeetc. hahaha! Two Mac Dos Its not similiar to USA,its look like Florencia or Venecia... I always was under impression, that we are here to ask and learn, not just ask stupid questions Venice?? I've been to both and there is no comparison, Venice is a western class city and St Pete is uncivilized. St. Pete is more like Naples than any other city in Itally. (except for a tiny part downtown). That being said its very fun to go there once or twice. Now wait! SPb use to be the capital of Russia twice. As it being similar to other countries, then no. It is very unique as in architecture and history. Many museums. More museums per square mile than any other country I been to. It is traditionally more Russian than anything else. Moscow is more European city. You need to go there to experience it. Good luck! |
