Is Moscow safe for homosexuals?

is it safe / welcoming?

i mean, i dont and wouldnt advertise my sexuality, but i've heard russia is rather hostile to gay's. would i have any issues?

From my knowledge you are correct, Russians aren't like USA when it comes to homosexuality. I wouldn't expect any welcoming. I wouldn't expect a lot of welcoming if you were heterosexual. Just enjoy visiting the country.

I wouldn't go to Moscow.

If you don't make out with your boyfriend on the street, don't hold hands, don't wear eyeliner, etc., then how are people going to know you're gay? Relax, as long as you don't feel the need to showcase your gayness on every street corner, you'll be okay.
