Help! What to do on rainy day(s) in Rio De Janeiro?

We're going on vacation to Rio. Forecast is - cloudy, rainy, cloudy, rainy, rainy, rainy.....Please, any suggestions what to do, where to go, what could be possible to see when it's raining? What are the must see, rainy or no rainy day? How much costs the food in restaurants? What is the safest way to see the city? Any usefull information...Thank you!

Sex is a good option :-)
No seriously, Rio has a lot of options, there is CCBB (Banco do Brasil Cultural Centre) , Municipal Theatre, the "Real Gabinete de Literatura Portugues" (Royal Reading Portuguese Chamber) and many other options downtown.
Food options are very wide, but just remember Rio is expensive, specially with the dollar at record lows.
Rio now ranks as 33rd most expensive city in the world.
Not everything is expensive, some things are still cheap, but good restaurants are usually $$$.
Safest way to see the city, in my opinion is to call and ask how much a taxi would charge to get you around for the day, thats in case you go downtown, etc.
In the south zone, Leblon, Ipanema, you can walk around, no problem.
A good taxi company is www.radio-taxi.com.br
ask for an english speaking driver.
email me if you have more questions

I wish I knew.

The best thing to do is ask for a tour of a near by rainforest when it is mild because of the rain. This time of year it is summer down there.

hey there! I麓ve lived in rio for many years so I might be able to help you with that.
Well, like any other major city in the world, whenever it rains, it kinda sucks lol
you can always do some shopping, they have amazing malls there, visit museums, go to a movie, have a great meal in the ipanema or leblon neighbourhoods, go to a club or a concert at night.
hope this helps!
xx

The food is not expensive - around AU$15 - and the dishes can feed 2 people because they bring all this side dishes along with the main. The best way not to waste time and have a good time is to book yourself on a city tour. Just as at the reception of any hotel.

Hang out at one of the down home bars called botequins or botecos.

Go to a restaurant that has typical Brazilian food...(which is really good and cheap)

then go to a museum.

And buy some souvenirs!!!

I think the best thing would be to google the touring company. I don't recall the name, but for about maybe 40 to 50 R, a driver who was certified picked us up, took us to various attractions and brought us back safely. The tourist have to pay to get in the attractions though. We thought it was cool because we got all of our site seeing and touring out of the way in a very effective manner.

I've been in Rio sometimes, and I loved it!! Its so wonderful place, if I could I'd live there xD

U can go to many places, have you ever been in Rio Sul,Botafogo Praia Shopping ,Barra Shopping or Downtown?? They're really great malls xDD
U also can go to a theather, museun, watch a movie,a concert.. and as someone said above, u can have a great meal in Ipanema or Leblon it's not so expensive

Good luck xD

Are you made of sugar or what???
I麓ve seen people scared of everything...but scared of rain??? That麓s too much for me!!!
