Does anyone know the name or names of a German town(s)? |
Does anyone know the name or names of a German town(s) where a lot of American families resides during the 1980s? The specific town that I am looking for was a short drive from the base and an estimated two to five hours drive to the ruins of a castle (in the moutains). When I asked my mother she told me that the town started with a P Pirmasens? Kaiserslautern, Heidelberg, Wuerzburg, Grafenwoehr, Hanau, Wiesbaden....thats just a few, hope that helps. Or maybe you mean Baumholder Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen,Cologne,Effel ,Bravaria,Frankfurt It could be Augsburg, they had about three bases there at one time. And it is about a couple of hours away from the Bavarian Alps, which has a number of castles....don't know about ruins. The Germans would have cleaned that up a long time ago, or if at all possible, restored it. Hope this helps ! Could it be Poppenhausen? There is a base in Schweinfurt and Poppenhausen is just a few minutes from there. I am not for sure about the castle ruins though. If you can give me some more information about what state or maybe if it was close to a large city that might help. I hope you do find the answer though. I hate it when I want to know something and can't find it. |
