Why would someone want to visit the Great Barrier Reef?

Why would someone want to visit the Great Barrier Reef?

Hi,
The GBR is one of the Natural Wonders of the World. There is no place on earth like the GBR. The entire area is protected and with this you experience the natural wonders up close the sea-life is magnificent to say the least. There is no place on the reef that is not occupied by some from of marine life. There are sea animals you will see no place else in the world. If you're thinking about it "Do It." I spent 10 wonderful days on two Liva Aboard Boats diving on the reef and I will return soon. This is one place you will never forget, an adventure and experience of a life time. Warm clear waters that invite you in, with visibility in excess of 100'.

To see the coral and wildlife

Why wouldnt they want to. Once you have experienced the beauty of The Great Barrier Reef, you would understand why. To swim with beautifully coloured fish and see coral all the colours of the rainbow, to swim over the top of giant clams. It is an experience you would remember all your life.

Why would they not want to visit and view it?
It is unique, readily accessible and admired not only by scientists, but by everyday ordinary human beings who can appreciate nature's beauty.
(I myself have not yet seen it, but I take the opportunity when I can to have a look at all aspects of our planet that are outside of my own domestic comfort zone.)
This planet of our is indeed a wondrous place, let's appreciate while we're alive as we're here only once and then only for a very short time.
Why is this question posted in "Queenstown" --is there a significance?

i got to scuba dive on the reef last year and all i can say is why wouldn't anyone want to see it-its a remarkable place and an experience i wont forget.

To see the fish

Iis one of the 7 wonders of the world . Breathtakingly beautiful , but unfortunatly ,due to a combination of the current drought and nutrient run off from agriculture , it may be decimated in as little as 20 yrs from now . See it while you can - it is truly unique .
