When is the ocean on the Gold coast warm enough to swim in?

I am wondering how close to sept. i can go to austrailia (gold coast, griffith university area) and enjoy warmth in the ocean.

The climate on the Gold Coast has an average of 300 days of sunshine and is sub tropical in nature. Spring the temperature is 15- 25C; Summer 20 -28C; autumn 15- 25 C and in winter 11- 21C. Winter days are mild making them perfect to explore the Gold Coast and the hinterland.
The average water temperature is apparently around 22 C.
Most locals don't swim in the winter, but you will see tourists from colder climate swim and they would say that the temperature is just right!
According to the last reference:
The coast climate is well suited to outdoor activities and swimming all year round with the sea water temperature between 19-21掳C all year round.
Average Summer Temperature : 19 - 29 掳C (66 - 83 掳F).
Average Winter Temperature: 9 - 21 掳C (48 - 69 掳F).
In the winter, I went to the rain forest and swam in the billabong. It was a bit cold but quite refreshing. We also snorkeled around the Great Barrier Reefs in the winter. It was not that bad.

the temp in the water is good for swimming all year around there but you will get cold as you get out in the cooler months & if it is windy

You can go swimming just about any time of the year, the water is a little cool during apr-sep, but outside those times, you need to get in the water to cool down

gold coast good for swimming all year around .just watchout for the sharks

I would say that the gold coast beaches are more wormier in summer but it would have to be a really hot day!!!

All year is fine. The wind can be a bit harsh.....and the weather can change on a dial but it is Gods own land.

All year is fine, but it is fine right now in October...infact the weather is really hot here so the beach is the perfect place to be......
