Has anyone been to Puerto Vallarta or Tulum?

I'm looking to take my family to Puerto Vallarta or Tulum this mid-March. Which would be more crowded? Which has more activities for teenagers? Which has better beaches? Water sports? Golf? Tennis? HELP! thanks.

The two weeks around Easter (March 23) are the busiest time of the year for Mexican vacations. Both Tulum and Puerto Vallarta will be extremely busy. PV is much larger and will be wall to wall with people. The beaches in PV are not as nice as the ones on the Carribean. PV has water sports, golf, tennis, and any other sport you might want. PV has so much to do that even a teenager will not be bored. I have not been to Tulum, but PV is the best city destination for things to do.
It depends on your style of vacation.

Tulum is more of a village and Puerto Vallarta is a functioning Mexican city. I'm sure you would find more activities and entertainment in PV.In Tulum you would likely have to travel to Cancun or Playa to find more entertainment. Both places have great beaches, just different.I know PV has both tennis and golf. Personally I prefer Puerto Vallarta. I think the kids might too.If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to email me.

Never been to Puerto Vallarta - but Tulum has gorgeous beaches - and ruins that overlook the beach

i've been to tulum and is completely a paradise

I have, and I loved it!!! I can't wait to go back. Here's a link to help you in your travel planning.
