How do I get from Puerto Vallarta to Uruapan, Michoacan, by bus or train, w/o going to Guadalajara first?

There are no passenger trains in Mexico

Take a bus down the coast to L谩zaro C谩rdenas and then 3 hours up into the mountains is Uruapan

The only option is the bus, go to www.ticketbus.com.mx and enter your starting point and destination. You will see all your options as well as times and cost. There is only one passenger train in Mexico running today and it is a tourist sightseeing ride,. The ADO and UNO are the two bus lines that I would try to book first.
