Jellyfish at Puerto Vallarta?

We're planning a trip to Puerto Vallarta next December for the Christmas holidays. I've heard that you can't enter the ocean water certain times of the year because of the jellyfish. Do you know if they are a problem in December and January?

Just spent November and December in PV, went diving numerous times and only got minor stings from the jellyfish. It's during the middle to end of the rainy season that they can get really populous (Approx. June - Sept) according to the locals.

Usually in the warmer season when the water is warmer
