Are the outlets in Mexico the same as in the U.S.?

I am going to Puerto Vallarta next week and want to be able to charge my Ipod. I have a charger that works when plugged into a U.S. outlet. Will it work in Mexico's outlets?

A source link is appreciated if possible.

Thanks

Its the same and dont worry.........If you can charge it in the USA you can use it and charge it in Mexico. I know because I live in Puerto vallarta, Mexico and have a Ipod and a charger from the USA that i now use in Mexico. The connection and the power supply is the same type and voltage.

That really is great, I've been searching Answers for this same question, and I'm so glad it's resolved. I'm going to Puerto Vallarta mid-August. Report It

Most of Latin America uses electrical outlets with only 2 prongs and also the wattage is different. You will need to get a transistor ( I believe that's how they are called), but there is no guaranty that it will work nor that it wont' damage your Ipod.

yeah it'll work i charge my ipod every night without troubles,
120 V, depends on the building if it's a workshop you can have 240V and triphasic electricity but the regular it's 120V don't worry

As far as I know yes, the new Mexican outlets have the same 3 contact legs as the Americans do.

In terms of electricity, USA = Mexico.
You won't have any trouble.

yes. but I think they only have the two "hole" thing. (look below). and you can buy the one with three holes
