Do i need permission to take my children to Mexico from my husband .i ma thinking of going next year? |
Do i need permission to take my children to Mexico from my husband .i ma thinking of going next year? In all seriousness, yes. you must have passports for yourself and the children. In order to get passports for the children, BOTH parents must be present and sign the application. IF you have SOLE legal and physical custody and have the document to prove this, then you do not need his permission. Otherwise he MUST be present to sign for the passports, OR he must write and sign a notarized letter stating he gives permission for the children to have passports. He then must also write, sign, and have notarized a letter for each child stating that he grants permission for the child to leave the country with you. You need 3 notarized copies (not photo copies) of the letter for each child. IF for any reason, your husband cannot be located to give his permission, the passport office will accept documentation that you have tried unsuccessfully to locate him. A letter from your lawyer, socail worker, the court, or other realiable persons knowledgeable on this subject can be summitted. Passport service often deals with this. See websites below. Good to plan ahead as you are. Hope all works out well for you. yes Technically, you're a grown women so you don't need permission from any man to do anthing but he is your husband so at least let him know. yes if you have joint custody of them its always safer to anyway as you cant then be accused of kidnap I believe if you are taking your child(ren) out of the country, you may need written approval from your spouse before you go, unless (s)he is coming with you. It could be seen as child abduction or kidnapping if you do not have permission from your spouse!! |
