Things to do In Puerto Vallarta?

We are going to Puerto Vallarta in 2 weeks, and we are looking for things to do other than drinking and partying... possibly something cultural. Thanks in advance

I went to Puerta Vallarta this past spring break and it was AWESOMEEEEEEEE! I stayed with my parents in the "Grand Mayan Hotel" which is in Nuevo Vallarta (right by puerto vallarta). We ate at a lot of good restaurants. There is one restaurant called Las Carmalitas, if i remember right, and it's up on the top of thhis mountain over looking the whole city of Puerto Vallarta and the beach. IT's an awesome view and a good place to watch the sunset. If you plan on going to that restaurant just ask people how to get to the restaurant on top of the mountain. PS. It's a rocky, narrow, winding road to the top of the mountain and its a little scary lol.

Another thing to try is SURFING! I loved surfing when I went to puerto vallarta. If you're interested, get a map, and look for the city of Sayulita. They have surf lessons and surf board rentals there. My advice is to just rent the surf board and go out and try to learn on your own and maybe ask a few other surfers about any tips. Trust me, it'll save ya about 60 dollars. I found it best to go on a cloudy day when the waves are somehwat calm and aren't coming in every 5 seconds.

I had a blast in Puerto Vallarta and I plan on going back sometime soon! Make sure you just explore the city and shop around downtown. They usually have this marketplace downtown open every day and you can shop around there too. If something you like is a lil overpriced, just tell them you'll pay a little less money for it. I bought a mexican blanket for about 15 dollars (150 pesos) when it was normally 25. Just try to haggle them down to a reasonable price. It almost always works.

Well, I hope I helped ya and have a GOOD time!

That all that I can do. Damn my youth.

Theres a big company in Puerto Vallarta called Vallarta Adventures that has tons of stuff to do. Tours, water sports, things like that.

Beside all the offered tours, there are still some more interesting things to do in Puerto Vallarta. There are things like spanish classes, dancing, cooking and so on. See the small list at:

If You are interested in historic matters like arceology You could visit the earth pyramids close to Ixtapa. Also You find a small museum at Rio Cuale Island and another very small one at the CUC University. Actually there are several excavations around Ixtapa.

The other interesting thing are the botanical gardens close to Vallarta and at least You could visit the Huichol community around Tepic, about 3 or 4 hours.

Finally, to experience some smaller Pueblos and authentic mexican lifestyle, You could book an older taxidriver, who brings You to the close ranchos and pueblos around Puerto Vallarta. You would be impressed !!

To get in contact with him ( he does this often and works like Taxidriver since 19 years ) please email me. I cannot publish his data.
