Car seat ??I'm going to puerta Vallarta?

We are flying in and staying for 7 days. Should I take a car seat. My baby is 7 months and is no longer in a infant carrier. How do i go about using a car seat. Do i need one if we jsut use the bus as transportaion and not a tax. Can we reant one instead of traveling with one?

if you are going to be taking lots of taxis and are worried about it you should take it, but i will say its going to be a pain in the a.s.s to carry around once you get there. you will not need one if you are going on the bus. I would call the contact the hotel and see if they have car seats, if that is something you would want to do. I suggest not talking one and using the bus system, most of everything your going to want to do it either very close or assessable by bus. Have fun its a beautiful place!

Bring it along. You wouldn't want to rent one- ick! Besides, you'll have no idea how safe it is, whether it's been through an accident, etc.

When I flew to Florida my sister was only a year and she had to sit on my moms lap for takeoff, after takeoff she could sit in her own seat she had to sit on my moms lap for landing.

YES! At 7 months old that baby needs a car seat on the airplane. Just check your current seat and see if it is FAA approved for airplane use. Install it rear facing (using seatbelt, planes don't have LATCH) on the plane. I'm not sure its possible to use a car seat on a bus, since I haven't seen many with seatbelts. If you are going to take taxis, it is a must. Yes, it is a bit of a pain, but what's more important? A temporary inconvenience or your baby having permanent injuries from a crash? If you don't want to take your current seat b/c its too bulky, go to Walmart/Target/Kmart and get a Cosco Scenera for $40 or less. Its lightweight, fits in most cars, and inexpensive.
