Puerto vallarta summer weather?

im thinking of going to puerto vallarta in the summer but the weather says all rain! does it rain a lot or ver light because i dont want to go when it is raining alot. how much does it rain?

I live here in Puerto Vallarta and the weather is not as bad as Weatherchannel says.

It is each year the same thing, around 25th of June begins the rainy period and ends around 25th of October. On my site I have a Weatherchannel badge which shows each day the actual weather. On 90 % of the days the weather is better !!!

During the rainy period normally it rains about two or 3 days a week, mostly in the late afternoon or at night. Mostly for one or two hours or something like that. After that the air clears up again. The next morning is blue sky.

But even if there are some clouds You still get a lot of sun and a nice dark skin tone sitting at the pool or beach. I myself never go to the beach in the summer if there are no clouds, i burned my skin many times.

The big advantage in the summer is: The ocean water is warm, depending on the beach, very warm. It is a quite nice experience to swim in warm water the whole day or night.

OK, the unique time when the weather could become really bad is if a hurricane over the pacific goes along the coast from south to north and passes for Puerto Vallarta.

Normally the hurricanes do not enter the area around the banderas bay because of the mountains in the south of Vallarta. But the effect is that up to three days maximum it is cloudy and the rain is more intensive.

But in the last 2 years I live here, I never had more then 2 or 3 days with clouds or rainfall.

Just one time all the people became crazy because there was a hurrican close, I took my camera to make some photos, but finally nothing happened.

If You find a good Puerto Vallarta webcam in the net and compare what You see with the weatherchannel information You will see that I am right on this.
