We are going to Nuevo Vallarta; is it far from Puerto Vallarta, and are there things to do there?

This depends on Your interest. If You want to stay most time at the beach, Nuevo Vallarta is perfect. All kind of beach activity is available, the water isnt deep and the beach is very long. As the most hotels there are 5 Star class, they will have many things to do there. Restaurants, Bars, Clubs and so on are completely integrated to the hotels.

If You want to have some other kind of activity, visit the city of Puerto Vallarta, which is about half an hour from Nuevo Vallarta, Taxi is more or less 25 bucks, bus is 1 buck ( the transport may also be included in Your hotel ).

At first You will find a lot of buths offering trips to everywhere, You find canopee, whalewatching, dolphin swimming, pirateship tours, biking tours, Romantic night tours, Secret beach tours, everything.

If You want something special, ask for Ixtapa, there are 2 earth pyramides, nobody knows becuase until now it isnt a touristic thing. But there You can feel the spirit. Some late azteca people make there some cleaning ceremonies at full moon. You may participate, its free !!! Yes FREE !! I will meet You there, always i go.

Another very cool thing is the Quimixto ( no people ) beach tour or the Yelapa ( many people ) beach tour. Both are accessible only by the ocean. You may book a complete tour ( expensive ) or You go to the pier at the end of the malecon in PV, where You find an office, which sells tickets for water taxis.

If You have good money available, book a tour to the HUICHOL indian tribe in the sierra madre, ths is extraordinary.

However, I am building a little page where I also have a section with things to do on Your own way. Have a look if You want. ( Still working on it.)

Bcn_mimosa From Barcelona, Spain

iam going there also but my uncle says theres alot to do and see but the shops open @2 because its hot and they call is seasta time iam going saterday also have fun he said theres a beach and at night they have dances he was giving me an agenda theres enough things to do sometimes they have groups and they sing on the beach

Nuevo Vallarta is about a 30 minute bus ride from Puerto Vallarta, and about a 45 minute ride to the downtown area of Puerto Vallarta, which is where the good shopping is.

The hotels of Nuevo Vallarta, because it is kind of out there, should offer a range of activities, so I would worry about a lack of things to do!

Have a good trip!

I have stayed there before. This is what you need to know........ The shops at the hotel and the restaurants try to rip you off. Since you are so far away from everything .... I hope you have an all inclusive package. It is going to be really expensive. It is beautiful there. But since you are so far from puerto vallarta it is going to cost you a lot to get there and to eat. Make sure you get a set price on the cost of the trip into puerto vallarta before you get into the taxi. have fun!!!

Nuevo Vallarta is a place to stay around the hotel and enjoy the beaches around it.

Nuevo Vallarta is not really far from Puerto Vallarta,

If you feel adventurous you can go other beaches around, like to "Mismaloya", a beautiful beach; "punta mita", manzanilla, quimixto, yelapa and "las animas" are great beaches there are small criuises that can get you to those beaches (accesible only by boat) for about 40 usd. the "princesa yelapa" cruise is one of the most comercial. Another beautiful beach is "bucerias".

Some of these beaches are acually in Nayarit but they're pretty close to PV. and Nuevo Vallarta.

In Mismaloya and Punta Mita you can get into one of the many little restaurants they have by the beach order a drink and stay there the whole day; obviously the sea food there is delicious.

Enjoy your stay

In Nuevo Vallarta itself there is the Vallart Adventures Center where the boat for snorkling departs, and the swim with dolphins. La Laguna restraunt is very good and there is a shopping mall at Paradise Village. Also, you are not far from the town of Bucerias which is very worth a visit.
