Beaches in Provence?

I want to find a beach in Provence or Languedoc that is really nice and will not be too busy in the first 2 weeks of July.

As a resident nature-lover, some of my favorite beaches in the Var region are on the island of Porquerolles, in front of Hy猫res.

On the north-western side of the island, "silver beach" or Plage d'Argent is a crescent of powdery white sand, popular with families since it's close to the island's one and only town. On the north eastern side, Plage de Notre-Dame runs for a long stretch before a forest of Aleppo pines. Its waters are turquoise and irresistible.

I'm afraid you won't be alone on any of these beaches in early July. The crowds shouldn't be as overwhelming as between July 15 to Aug 15, but you will have plenty of company. The beauty of the site usually has us forget that we're not a just a handful to visit that time of year.

Plage de Tahiti by St Tropez is also very nice, though even busier.

Easiest way to reach Porquerolles is from the Giens Peninsula and to hop on the ferry from "La Tour Fondue" for a 20 min ride. See http://www.tlv-tvm.com/francais/horaires... for schedule.
Or from Le Lavandou: http://www.vedettesilesdor.fr

Bonne vacances!

why don;t you get the best answer from people for travel?

Plage Tahiti a couple of miles from St Tropez. Wide open. No film-stars. Miles of golden sand.

Bonjour from France ! in fact, the real holidays in France don't really start before mid-july - if you are coming the first 2 weeks, the beaches won't be that busy yet and I can recommend the Lavandou where I spent a lovely time.
St Rapha毛l too or Hy猫res are very beautiful too !
I would not recommend the Languedoc, it's cheaper but not so nice and no charm at all !

I am from this area too. What inconnaissable told you is correct. Between Saint-Raphael and Hyeres, there are so many great beaches. My favourites is Canadel (between Le Lavandou and Cavalaire). It is not easy to access if you have no car. La Capte in Hyeres is great as well. Saint-Aygulf is easy to access, very popular and a bit crowded but it is worth trying.

Why not trying to go to the island of Marseilles? In Frioul, you have a paradise in terms of swimming, just 20 minutes far from the city by boat.

You are full of illusions!!
You think you'll find a beach not too busy in July?? In south of France?? You're dreaming!!
I live in south of france (that's why my english is not so good...) and there's already a lot of tourists.
Last time I went to the beach, three weeks ago, it was full of people.
What you can do to be on a quiet place is to go to beaches by boat (rent one...), I mean beaches you can't visit by foot.
Good Luck!
