Has anyone ever rented a scooter in Nice, France?

I am traveling with my girlfriend to Nice, France and thought it would be cool for us to rent a 2 seat scooter to drive along the coast and take it to the village of Eze. has anyone ever rented a scooter in Nice and have any tips? how much will they cost? are they safe for someone who has never driven a scooter before? is there anything else i should know?

Hi there from Cannes *30mns drive to Nice.
Actually if you are going to Nice during spring or summer time even autumn, then go ahead you can rent a scooter, that is a good idea. It is not that expensive, i assume only the insurance might be.
Living there, you ll have to be careful, coz french driving is not the best on this world. So if you like risky life just go ahead.#

no ..but i rented a cooter in amsterdam once

If you love your gf, you'll pay for a rental car. The traffic in Nice is not nice and even driving a car can be a hairy experience. If you like the open air feeling, get a car with a sunroof. If you still insist on renting a scooter, remember that you've been warned. In the actual city of Nice, the bus service is nice and there really is no need for a car.

It will be easy to rent a scooter in Nice as it is the city in France where it's used the most.
BUT Nice dwelers drive really bad so it's dangerous, especially for someone who has never driven such a vehicle. So I'd recommend a car instead.
