Planning to go to Fatima and Lisbon early Nov, is english commonly used among portuguese there? I am totally blind on portuguese. Would you please translate the following to protuguese, please suggest me other important portuguese phrases for a visitor.
How much is this?
How to go to .......?
Where am I now ?
How to go to ..... ?
How far is ......?
bus, taxi, toilet, bye, thank you
many many thanks Cindy gave you some useful words, however some of them are in Brazilian Portuguese and we don't use them, such as:
barra-么nibus, toalete (these two I doubt anyone would know what they mean)
In touristy areas you can speak in English, unlike in Spain we speak more than one language and a lot of people speak even more than 2.
Qual o pre莽o (disto)? or Quanto custa?
Para ir a...? (this is translated as: to go to...)
Onde estou agora?
Para ir a...?
Qual a distancia para... ?
bus - Autocarro
taxi - taxi
toilet - quarto de banho, casinha, lavabos. Pick the one you find easier.
