search:Peter Chausse walking tours, I GUARANTEE you will love Peter and learn everything there is to know about Portland, I have taken 3 of his walking classes, He is wonderful and very personal, email him. from his site. I've been in OR 36 years, and oh my, will he steer you in the right directions even if you email him, tell him Wendy from Grants Pass sent you :)
I live 4 hours south and I LOVE Portland OR. OK, first with kids age 2 and up. do not miss OMSI ! The waterfront by the river that runs thru the downtown part has huge "water fountains" designed for everyone to run thru and that is such a fun place for all, like a big park . Also, Powell's book store, and huge, books for everyone, and I mean HUGE< many stories/levels. Portland Zoo, drive one day to Seaside on the coast so much for the kids. wow, have fun, can I come :)
Peter can tell you everything. he is also a teacher so knows kids well . Don't miss the Pittock Mansion tour and the japanese Gardens and and and :) Peter can tell you it all, he is wonderful. See the Grato, many of these don't sound great, but they ARE !!!!!!!!!!! USE GREAT CAUTION IN THE N.E. PART, I WOULDN'T GO THERE.

OMSI & the zoo are great for both kids and adults. Oaks Park is a fun amusement park.
