Oregon towns!!!!!!!?

When I graduate High school I want to move to Oregon.....I've only been in the desert and plains part of Oregon, so this summer me and my mom are going to take a trip up there to explore towns and cities along the coast, because I want to live along the coast with the pine trees and water....no deserts please cuz I already live in one! ;)
Can anyone reccomend some towns or cities on the coast? I prefer very little tourist towns, but I actually need a city that has a University....any cities that are a short drive from the ocean? Thanks!

You have some of options. If you are aiming for a larger school, you can go to UofO in Eugene. The only downside to that is Eugene isn't anything close to great place to live. You could also go for Oregon State in Corvallis. It's like a small city, but not touristy. If you want a smaller school you could go to Linfield in McMinnville, Willamette in Salem, Western Oregon in Monmouth or Pacific in Forest Grove.

If you want to be in a big city, Portland has a few good colleges. Portland State, University of Portland, Reed College and Lewis and Clark.

I say look into all of these schools and you'll have a wide variety of choices, all with their ups and downs. At the furthest, these are just an hour and a half drive to the ocean (but at the closest are 45 minutes.) There are no universities on the coast.

Eugene is your answer. The only problem with Eugene is that it is infested with Liberals.

Well, there's no Universities on the coast, but the closest thing you'll find is the Oregon State University Marine Research Center out in Newport, over by the Oregon Aquarium. Corvallis is home to OSU, though, and that's just over the mountain. Try there. I'd also recommend Portland (Portland State Univ.) and Eugene (Univ. Of Oregon). I'd try recommending Ashland (Southern Oregon University), but that's desert, just north of the Californian border. Hope it helped.

I would recommend Medford or Ashland area, it is surrounded by Mountains- to Ski- and only a couple of hours to the Pacific Ocean. Ashland is a cool college town with lot of things happening, also theirs the "Shakespeare" festival which is real popular.

You should either move to Newport or Portland

Portland is an hour and a half drive from the best pine-trees-and-water coastal areas (Ecola, Oswald West, and Cape Lookout State Parks). It has Portland State University and lots of smaller colleges. It's not a little town though. Some people do commute from the coast to Portland, which you could do for school if you're up for the daily drive. In that case you could live in Seaside or Canon Beach, which are both small tourist towns.

Pacific University in Forest Grove is a good small school.
It is not far from the beach, maybe 30- 40 minutes and not faar from Portland.
Very beautiful country side, with rollinh hills and lot's of vineyards.

ummm why are you asking this in the Orlando area?
