Name the best things about living in the state of Portland?

sorry, not a state......

Portland is a great place to visit because, its a medium sized city, so it isn't as large as San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York. But it does have a lot of urban qualities like great restaurants, museums, and theaters. Also, there are great neighborhoods with brewpubs, movie theaters, coffee hangouts, bookstores, etc. Plus, you are never far from great outdoor activities. The Oregon Coast is beautiful (go in the summer, very cold and rainy otherwise), and is about 1 hout west. Mt Hood is about 1 hr east, and has great skiing. And in just about every direction you can camp in the forest, boat on the rivers, and hike in the mountains.

You can get so drunk you can forget the name of the state of Oregon.

Portland is a city in the state of Oregon.. You can travel 1-2 hours in any direction and you'll be either somewhere fanstastic in Oregon.
Travel West and head to the coast, travel east and head to the Columbia Gorge or Mt Hood, Travel North and see Washington State, travel South and see .....well I'm sure something is down there....Aw yes, warmer weather:o)

Portland is unique anyone who lives hear knows that. Its clean you have the mountains, beaches, and one of the largest urban parks in the world.

But the best part of Portland is that it has some of the best restaurants and theaters in the nation.

We get damn hot summers, and cold snowy winters!

You don't pump your gas, there's no sales tax, the public transportation is very convinent, crime rate in Portland is down for the 3rd year in a row. You can ride the MAX train, street cars or buses around Downtown Portland and you can reach the malls, Rose Garden, convention center, Chinatown, saturday market, library and a lot more without paying anything in the Fareless Square destinations.

The Oregon coast is about a 1 hr 15 minute drive where the view is spectacular specially in the summer it's a hot tourist spot.

Traffic isn't bad. The rush hour traffic here is about the morning(3-4 am) traffic in LA.
