Is corvallis, oregon an expensive area to live?

I live in Irvine, CA and am looking to move to oregon. I think corvallis sounds wonderfull. I just need to know from someone who lives there if living costs are expensive. Thanks!

I live in Corvallis! Oregon is definitely cheaper than California!
I live in a two bedroom apartment right on campus, and it is $520.00 per month, utilites included, but you pay electric! On the south side of town, some places are cheaper! You just have to look!
There is more rain here, so be prepared for that!

Oh, and if you move here, you must say--ore-E-gUn~ Correct pronunciation is everything!
If you say OreEgone, people will say Oregone where?

My husband used to live in Albany 10 miles from Corvallis. He says its a college town (home of OSU) but it is definitely cheaper than Irvine. Oregon is a less expensive state to live in than California. Hopefully your not a smoker cause its against the law to smoke in a public place!

Corvallis is in the middle of a farming area. It the home of Oregon State University. Compared to Los Angeles, CA - Corvallis, OR is 28.5% cheaper. So, if you made $50,000 a year in LA you'd only have to make $35,762 a year in Corvallis to maintain the same standard of living.

Go to the following website for cost of living comparisons.

Only if you're a college student. ; ) But no, its actually pretty affordable if you're not looking for a place next to Oregon State University (property demand rises in those areas, I'd avoid anywhere Jefferson Street and Highway 20/99W, and 19th through 33rd Avenue. Other than tht, yeah, I agree, great place to live! My cousin lives there, and she loves it!
