Good place (apt complex, or area) to live in Astoria OR?

I'm moving to Astoria from Portland due to work, and I would really appreciate any "insider's" pointers on good living areas in Astoria, as well as safe/nice apartment complexes. I looked online-but it doesn't show anywhere that Astoria has apt complexes..
I'll be taking a trip there on Sunday to check it out, so details about apartments, areas are VERY appreciated!!
Thanks guys!!

Astoria is not nearly as big a place as Portland, and the types of housing you will find are a little different than in Portland. If you are used to big suburban apartment complexes like in Portland/Beaverton/Hillsboro, you will just not find them.

There are lots of houses in Astoria, and you may want to consider seeing which of those are for rent. Housing tends to be cheaper in Astoria than in Portland.

There are a number of smaller apartment buildings scattered throughout town. Try areas around 15th & Grand, the 200 Block of Nehalem Ave, and the lower part of Alameda Ave.

Astoria is a small enough place that you can drive around and get a feel for the neighborhoods in about an hour. There really isn't a "bad" part of town.

Actually, there is a 70-year-old apartment complex east of town on Hwy 30 called Emerald Heights. The rents are really low cost, but many of the buildings are in less-than-great shape, and there have been a lot of neighbor problems there in the past. A good place to avoid.

Don't overlook staying in neighboring Warrenton, just south on Hwy 101. There are some newer apartments there, and it is still right next to Astoria.

Probably, your best bet is to just look around town at places you like. The whole town is in a space about 2 miles square, anyway. And.... good luch there and have fun!

Hmmmm.. I would not suggest Emerald Heights. I'm in a rental above Alameda while my house is being built, view is great, but I had a few things stolen from my residence. Just an FYI. In Astoria a lot of homes rent out rooms, you might go that route. Warrenton has some complexes and duplexes, and your only minutes away. We have a couple of property management businesses, and also The Daily Astorian would be worth checking into. All in all, a very safe place to live, with lots of things to do! Good luck!
