South Beach lies on Oregon鈥檚 Northern Coast in Lincoln County. The northern portion of this unincorporated community lies within the City of Newport鈥檚 boundaries. The history and workings of these two communities are closely intertwined. The City of Portland is the closest major metropolitan area to South Beach, lying 138 miles to the north. South Beach, located at 124掳02鈥?1鈥漌 and 44掳36鈥?6鈥漀, encompasses a total land area of 16.89 square miles.

old orchard beach is only 5-10 minutes away from portland and it has a pier and is very nice. there is even an amusement park on part of the beach. the pier has small shops and resteraunts on it.
