Could someone please tell me everything they know about Eugene Oregon? |
My husband and I are moving to Eugene in 3 weeks. I need info on decent apartment complexes, job outlook, stuff to do, hotels, area info, school info on lane community college (is it a good school), recreation activities, shopping (stores), and any other info you deem important. Please respond if you have lived in Eugene and know alot about the area! If you don't know allready Eugene is a College Town. Lane is a decent community college kind of in the middle of nowhere though. There is the valley river center which is a pretty typical mall, and a few shops downtown or on campus. I lived in eugene for a while and attended lane cc. If you can handle the rain and like to go out and party a lot eugene is great. There are a lot of young people and bars. to go to, some places that are generally popular are Taylors, Rennies, Max's (these are where most college students hang out), There are a lot of bars basically, the food is good. Depending on the scene you want to be involved in there are appartments off goodpasture, like 5 different complexes if you want to be away from campus. But the nicest appartments on campus in eugene are probably the hilliard house. One more thing you might want to check on the saturday market or the hotsprings. I was just in Eugene and it was raining hard on Saturday night. The temp was 45 or so during the day and in the 30's at night. I went to the Gateway mall in Springfield which is right across I-5 from Eugene. Went to Kohls and Target mostly but stopped at a few of the specialty shops. LCC is locates on the southern end of town and looks very nice though I never attended it. I have cousins who attend Sheldon HS and like it quite a bit. |
