Portland oregon?

i am going to be turning 18 and then moving there with my boyfriend. i am just scared because its a new place and it will be like out of my comfort zone? i wont know which areas are bad and which are good. what are good areas for young people...and how is the crime rate and burglers? and stuff. lol thanks!

I live in Portland, there are A LOT of bridges, and plenty of traffic, there are a fair amount of weird people roaming the streets, the shopping is AWESOME!!! During certain hours Northwest, and downtown portland can be dangerous but I've never been caught in a crime scene. lol

Portland is a great diverse city. North Portland is kind of scary even in the daytime. Northwest Portland has a cool scene but yeah, night time don't be wandering around by yourself. Burnside is kind of seedy also.

Downtown has alot of great shops, restaraunts, etc.

its alright actually, better than some places.
i recomend hawthorne district, sellwood, and other places in southeast portland.

Stay of out North Portland. It's well know for its crime...I don't drive there at all and I was born and raised in PDX. Hawthorne is a trendy area and cost of living in PDX has certainly increased significantly over the years. I recommend you come and check it out before the move. Get a feeling for the city. It has alot to offer....Good luck.
