Roseburg Oregon?

Have you ever been to this town, or live in it. What did/do you think of it?

I love Roseburg. Soooo pretty. I think they have a Dairy Queen too so they have that going for them.

I live 45 minutes south of it.

Roseburg is like many Oregon towns, a logging town on the back side of recovery from the timber industry cutbacks and has turned to service industries and real estate for an economic base. It has a fairgrounds, lots of cattle farms, a mall, Fred Meyer, all the usual stuff and is growing, but it's still a small town life. Don't let "town" bother you, it's really a small city.

There are no plains, it's bordered by mountains on all sides with the I-5 going right through the middle of it and has various valleys ambling off around it. Mountain life is really different than city life or living where there are open plains, it takes some getting used to. There is no horizon. If you leave town, every drive is a trek over mountain passes, which can be pretty treacherous in the winter. It's closest neighbors are Sutherlin 10 miles or so to the north and Myrtle Creek 6 miles or so to the south. Like I said, growing real estate market, a lot of the nice properties are getting crammed up with housing tracts.

Like all towns, it has it's problems, and if you're thinking of moving there, like any small town it's difficult to settle in and become part of the community. Very few jobs, and the ones you'll find are pretty low paying unless you're called in on some specialty occupation. But if you're sick of city life it would be a decent choice.

i dont like roseburg its a boring town and theres no good malls or restaraunts

I've been there... it is very small but I love the country there. It is a nice place to visit and enjoy the river especially on those hot summer days.
