What would be good things to do with visiting in-laws?? |
I live in Portland Oregon and my in laws will be visiting from texas this Christmas for 7 days. Anybody have any insights in some amazing things I can show them here while they are on the west coast??? Are you kidding me? there are endless things to do. We had family in from Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. We went to Mt. St. Helens one day, another day we went to the coast, theres shopping, the casinos, Mult falls just to name a few. Have fun!!!!! Take them to all the tourist spots, all the museums, all the kinds of stores they are interested in, and don't forget to feed them. MY My, How long have you lived here?, I would definitely take them up to the Vista House on the Colombia River Gorge (If it isn't windy, or icy), travel east to Multnomah falls, do lunch in Troutdale , on the way home (in a roundabout way) lunch or dinner at Edgefield is nice, but, on the medium-high end of a budget. The Oregon Coast would be a must see for folks from Texas, try lunch or dinner in Pacific City's,The Riverhouse Restaurant(!!!!!), If they like antiques at all, then go to the historic town of Aurora, or Sellwood. Take the tram from downtown up to the top and come back down for a bit of a thrill. Mount Hood's Timberline Lodge is also awesome.I recommend Oregon's tourism website! You can hit all of the hot spots, but most of our hotspots are out doors and people from a warmer place like Texas are not used to the cold like we are, so be careful with what you show them and how much you take them out. Or at least call them and tell them to pack warm! Stick 'em in the closet! go to the Maine Mall. there's not really much to do here in winter. it's always cold and boring actually and thats why I'm moving to Phoenix AZ when I graduate in june. Old Orchard Beach is fun in the summer months and is close to shopping and amusement parks. |
