Who lives in oregon and likes it? |
Who lives in oregon and likes it? I have lived in Medford/Central Point in my teenage years and Portland for the bulk of my adult years and I prefer it. I had lived in the L.A. area during my young adult years and moved back when I had the chance. Will never move back to L.A. but might move to Bend, Oregon if the opportunity presented itself. I GUESS I DON'T LIVE THERE, SO I WOULDN'T KNOW! I was born and raised in the area and lived in Portland as an adult. There are so many cool neighborhoods, and downtown is one of the cleanest city's. There are really good resteraunts, clubs, and lots of hiking, biking, walking, things to do.. Nature right outside your door. You can be at the beach in an hour and a half, go to the mountain in 2... a little farther and you can be in a more of a desert climate..Redmond, Bend area.. Yeah it rains, but I guess you get use to it and the summer's are very nice. The traffic is just like California though now. If you travel on I-205 or I-5 be ready for long delays for accidents every day.. Too many people now.. I'm moving to Portland, Oregon in about three weeks. My boyfriend and I love it out there! Powell's Book Store and the Chinese Gardens are the best! @`~,~~~Portland is also known as The City of Roses. I've lived in Oregon for thirty years, Grants Pass for 16 and Portland for 14, and I love it. Yeah it rains but it's great. Ditto above about mountains rivers, lakes, beaches, clean downtown, MAX, cool neighborhoods, restaurants, Powell's, Saturday Market, Blues Festival, concerts, music, culture etc. I've lived in LA and been back there. I-5 and I-205 may seem bad while you are in it but it's nothing compared to LA, SF, or Seattle. Whenever possible I take MAX. I live there and I like it. I have been there once and enjoyed it. Its a bit rainey and cloudy for me but thats just a personal preference. Downtown was very nice and the Chinese food there is to die for. It did seem like there wasnt much for cultural diversity though and that is what i love about most big cities. I just seemed mostly as a Caucasian city. I would take Portland and Oregon over anywhere in Cali anyday. I do! I live in the Willamette Valley, out in the country. I think it beautiful here. I was born and raised here in Oregon, as were my parents, I have lived here for 50 years. I don't JUST like it, I LOVE this state, even with all the rain...it makes me appreciate the sun even more!.Anymore questions?, Let me know! sincerely |
