ok people, ive already used books, k? and ive found nothing. k? for everyone telling me to look it up myself and that its so easy: i have been searching for 3 days and haven't found anything. look at the stuff im actually asking first. INTERESTING STUFF.

Here you go:

Economics:
Poland is considered to have the strongest economy of all eastern European nations, with an annual economic growth rate of over 6.0%. The privatisation of small and medium state-owned companies and a liberal law on establishing new firms has encouraged the development of the private business sector, which has been the main drive for Poland's economic growth. One of the incentives to small businesses is that you will only pay half of the national insurance contributions for the first two years of your business, this is indeed a big incentive to the private business sector economic growth as many small businesses have taken up this offer.

The agricultural sector remains the main problem for Poland in the future, due to surplus labour, inefficient small farms, and a lack of investment. A lot of restructuring needs to be done through the EU, and unfortunately many small farms need to be modernised and a lot of them will simply just die or remain hobby farms.

Restructuring and privatisation of "sensitive sectors" (e.g., coal), has also been slow, but recent foreign investments in energy and steel have begun to turn the tide. Recent reforms in health care, education, the pension system, and state administration have resulted in larger than expected fiscal pressures. Improving this account deficit and tightening monetary policy, with focus on inflation, are priorities for the Polish government. Further progress in public finance depends mainly on privatisation of Poland's remaining state sectors, the reduction of state employment, and an overhaul of the tax code to incorporate farmers, who currently pay significantly lower taxes than other people with similar income levels.

Geography of Poland

Poland is a country in Central Europe, east of Germany. Generally speaking, Poland is an unbroken plain reaching from the Baltic Sea in the north to the Carpathian Mountains in the south. Within that plain, terrain variations generally run in bands from east to west.
The Baltic coast lacks natural harbours except for the Gda艅sk-Gdynia region and Szczecin in the far northwest. The north-eastern region, called the Lake District, is sparsely populated, and lacks agricultural and industrial resources. To the south and west of the lake district, a vast region of plains extends to the Sudetes on the Czech and Slovak borders to the southwest and to the Carpathians on the Czech, Slovak, and Ukrainian borders to the southeast.
The country extends 664 kilometres from north to south and 689 kilometres from east to west. Poland's total area is 312,683 square kilometres, including inland waters. The neighbouring countries are Germany to the west, the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the south, Ukraine and Belarus to the east, and Lithuania and the Russian province of Kaliningrad to the north-east.

Warsaw (Polish spelling Warszawa)

An older spelling of Warsaw in Polish is Warszewa or Warszowa, meaning "owned by Warsz". History attributes the city name to a fisherman Wars and his wife Sawa. Actually, Warsz was a nobleman (12th/13th century) who owned a village located at the site of today's Mariensztat neighbourhood.
The official city name in full is The Capital City of Warsaw (Polish: Miasto Sto艂eczne Warszawa). Warsaw has been known in Latin as Varsovia. A native or resident of Warsaw is called Varsovian.

I have tried to cover all your questions with links and a bit added by myself, if you want to know anything else then please message me :O)

OMG i am doing that EXACT same kind of project too! omg!! im doind poland too! well this is a GREAT website our teacher told us about (im in a 7th grade advanced class), here it is....

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications...

its a great website...good luck!

p.s. im polish, and if u have to bring in food, i would suggest bringing in pierogies!

The internet is not the be-all and end-all. Go to the library and find books on Poland. Go to the travel agent and get some brochures on Poland. That will show you how Poland sells itself to tourists.

Some of the culture is based on where you live. In krakow they wear traditional outfits at weddings. When you go to the mountains some people where there "goralskie" outfits [they wear them at weddings too].
good luck on your project!
poland is a great country to visit!

if i was to make a serious project the net wud be only an additional source of knowledge and also its not that difficult to go to google n find things there as everything is there, i bet if u went to Wikipedia or Polish gov site u wud find everything u need so i think its kinda crazy to ask a q of this kind cos the answer is SOOOOOOOOOO wide n ppl who answer to it wud have to do a research that can be done by u n i think its stupid for em to copy n paste things they get from wikipedia ;)
the questions u have asked are so easy to find on the net (since u dont wanna use books) so i advice u goin to google n find what u need n u wont waste ur time on gettin the answers that show u wikipedia links or tellin u to go get books etc lol

what u shud do to make ur project cool is ask questions in here ask sth that cant be found on the net n then add it to ur project, u have a great opportunity to talk to us-the native ppl n i bet we all wud be happy to help u answering ur qs, tellin u sth interesting, talk bout places to visit that arent well known by foreigners even tho they deserve bein visited, talk bout stereotypes, cos i dont know if u r aware that ppl in here do not listen to Polka music (its not even Polish) when i was in the States ppl kept askin me if i like Polka n i was like "what??" lol seriously i have NEVER met a Polish person listenin to that kinda music, there are many alike stories to be told which u cant really find in the books or the net so try to come up w/some qs so u cud make ur project interesting by doin so u wud show ur teacher that u did a great job, i bet most projects like that are based on facts from the books only n dont have this real-life side, use us-the natives in makin ur project like not any other (once my country was the biggest in Europe =) and our language was spoken by many ppl who at that time found it fancy to speak it just like French or Latin)

also if u do a research and u wanna confirm sth then ask it in here, i read many things on Poland online n i found some things written there funny n not true ;)
so dont waste time on askin bout economy or natural resources since all things like that are on wikipedia n alike

u didnt do anything in tryin to find the info u need u lil cheater =) i thought u wont find the etymology of Warszawa but it was on wikipedia n ive found it there, it says: "An older spelling of Warsaw in Polish is Warszewa or Warszowa, meaning "owned by Warsz". Folk etymology attributes the city name to a fisherman Wars and his wife Sawa. Actually, Warsz was a nobleman (12th/13th century) who owned a village located at the site of today's Mariensztat neighbourhood"
broadly speakin Warszawa contains two words that are names of two ppl-spouses
(folk etymology, we have maaaaaaany folk stories Warsaw itself has many)
