Price and brands of cigarettes, digars Poland please. Also what allowances to UK?

All brands of cigarettes you will find in Poland, but they will vary in price from 3.50zl to 8.00zl per packet.
Benson&Hedges, Marlboro, Dunhill and many more

If you feel brave and can find a Polish friend to help you, you will be able to buy them illegally from the markets for 2zl per pack of the Ukrainian sellers.

As to bringing them back to the UK there is no limit as long as you can prove they are for yourself.

New guidelines introduced in 2002 in the UK by the Treasury minister John Healey raised the number of cigarettes that can be brought into Britain for personal use from 800 to 3,200. The idea is to allow personal shoppers to buy enough to keep the average smoker going for around six months instead of the current six weeks supply. The maximum amount of hand-rolled tobacco is also to increase from 1kg to 3kg.

Poland is the same as anywhere else in Europe now.

Errr, sorry sylvia a your information is incorrect as Poland has just joined the Schengen zone and limitations have been dropped!!! :O)

P.S. I don't know who keeps marking my answers down, but it's a bit strange and childish!!!!

As I said sylvia a your information is wrong as last month my mother came to Poland and took back with her 3,000 cigarettes with her through the airport and had no problem with customs in Poland or the UK.
I suggest you do a bit more reading before you post :O)

Re-edit: listen sylvia a, she and I both go through customs on a regular basis and as you should now (if you have ever been through them) that your bags are scanned and they also open your hand luggage.
Furthermore, I have taken over a thousand cigarettes with me on each occasion which was 14 times last year going through the Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport, and if you are going to tell me that this is wrong well you are a better person than my wife's uncle who is an customs officer.

im answering coz no1 else has as yet..
i know its 200 cigarettes LEGALLY only /person. plus u can bring tobacco and cigars, but not sure how much coz i dont smoke that. they are not very strict on the border so u can stretch it to 400, just dont go crazy, because Poland is not FULLY IN THE EU YET...thats how the restriction was explained to me.
i smoke menthol, they are about 拢13 /200. cigarettes are going up 20% soon. they have Marlboro but not all or many popular uk brands. what i did was took a packet of my regular smokes and chose a few alternatives with the closest values for tar, nicotine (and the other 1..only have my polish smokes here and cant remember the english name). i tried all and picked my fave and bought those.
google cigarettes allowance from poland. u should get some more info. hope that helps.

EDIT - so much misinformation on here i had to add this
http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/com...

i dont know how to make the link active, but basically it states that the 200 cigarettes limit will end at the end of 2008.
EDIT no way those guidelines in 2002 allowed for no limit on cigarettes. i have traveled to poland 2 times in 2007 and phoned the airport and was told 200 only. if u check relevant websites u will find several countries in the eu still have the 200 limit.

UKPOLSKA ur mother was very lucky lol did she actually tell the customs she had all those ciggies and they said good on ya?

first answer's prices are kinda off. most good brands like Marlboro, Camels, etc cost between 7-8zl a pack. prices have risen a bit in the last few months but its still very cheap when compared to uk prices. since Poland is in schengen now you dont have to worry when crossing the border. cigars are also a lot cheaper here, you can get a pack of 6 (brazilian, ceder rolled for around 20zl).
