Poland people really racist?

Some are (like the older generation) and some aren't (like the younger generation).

No. They're the best Slavic people ever.

NO. the country was isolated from the outside world for so long therefore the people are abit awkward with the rest of the human beings that dont look like them.

Some are some aren't it's just like every race your going to have a few racists, but certainly not the whole country.

Hmmmm, tough one!!!

After living here for seven years, generally I would say no; but, and a big but, they are not very tolerant to new ideas and when there are new people coming into the country and sometimes you will get the small minority who will make stupid comments like look at the monkey, in referring to coloured people.

But you will only hear this in the villages and poorer less educated People of Poland, and these are isolated cases.
Somewhat like our own UK morons who blame everyone else for there problems, but don't get up and do anything about it themselves.

However lets put this into perspective.

Poland was behind closed doors for many years and the preconceived ideas along with stereotypes of many countries were born during this period, due to lack of personal experience.

Imagine...... my wife's cousins are now 25-years-old, and when they were twelve they found some coca-cola cans, took them home, cleaned them out, filled them with water and walked down the road pretending that they were so rich that they could afford them.
Now if people see coca-cola in this light you imagine when they see a coloured man!!

It was bad enough for myself being from the UK seven years ago before many foreigners came here, all I had to do was to open my mouth and speak English and people would stare right at you, this is not being racist, this is just ignorant interest lol

So racist, no not really just worldly inexperienced :O)

And to those people giving me a low rating, I love this country warts and all and if we are afraid to admit the truth then what does that make us, fools who cannot admit what is wrong because of our ego!!!!

i think that polish people who first come to a multicultural country like uk are racist, in the sense that they will make comments that would be considered racist. but that is based on their ignorance of other cultures, and the fact that they havent seen many or in fact any black people. they have nothing to base those comments on other than those people looking different from themselves. when later they actually meet/ interact with those different to themselves pople, they generally stop being silly.
