I am going to Poland at Christmas time. What are the best cities to find handmade Christmas ornaments?

ZAKOPANE, ZAKOPANE, ZAKOPANE. Although I do not know so much about the ornaments themselves, this is where you will experience the most interesting culture. this is where you will find things that represent how the rest of the world looks at Poland in a stereotypical fashion.

Be careful though, watch what you are buying...Poland has fallen victim to the Chinese importation culture as much as the rest of the world...So just because it looks Polish does not mean it is!!!

And by the way, Christmas is BIG TIME in Poland...Not big time gift giving like it is in the U.S....But they take christmas very seriously, they celebrate the true meaning of christmas. Prepare yourself for what may be an experience like you have never been a part of...Oh, and take a nice suit!!!

Nope, You can wear jeans & a tee shirt to church. You may need a suit to have christmas eve dinner with whmever you are spending the holiday with. Some families dress up to have dinner @ home on Christmas. At least my wifes does. Like I said, prepare yourself. Report It

AFAIK, it's pretty the same everywhere in Poland. Most of that stuff comes from China anyway :( Better try to find (via Internet) someone who's still hand-making these somewhere in Poland, and go buy directly from the craftsman.

If not, then go to Krakow, and try your luck :)

There's a shop in Pl. Konstytucji; close to the post office. You can also try in Chmielna street or in one of the flea markets in the city.
