To do in playa?

Does anyone have any "must sees" or really fun things to do while in Playa del Carmen?

I was just shortening it...didn't mean to offend anyone! I'm from the United States of America, and I frequently refer to it as US. Doesn't mean I don't know what the actual name is...

I have been to PDC plenty. Some of the restaurants to go to in Playa: El Oasis, (good prices) they have the best tempura shrimp tacos and best Mojitos in Mexico. If you get tired of spending money on 5Th street restaurants, try El Fagon located just across from Wal-mart, they have very good tacos and queso fundido. (melted cheese with meat in tortillas) Check out tripadvisor.com and look up Playa check out the dining scene, lots of reviews of restaurants.

I really like going to Xcaret, its only about 5 min. from town so take a taxi and buy your tickets at the gate. I recommend the all-inclusive without the dinner show. The buffet at lunch was very good, but the food at the night show was terrible. I do recommend that you go to the night show it is very good and you don't have to buy dinner to see it.

The Tulum/Xel-Ha tour is very good as well and the food is good. (Playatrips.com, good source of information and Tello the owner is a great contact in PDC.)

The Chichen-Itza trip all-inclusive is very nice, it takes a while to get there but it is an amazing site.

I have also been on the Coba (Mayan Encounter tour) very fun.

Take a trip across to Cozumel for the day. Snorkeling is fantastic in Cozumel. Try a discover scuba course and dive one of the shallow reefs in Cozumel.

P.S. Look out for all of the timeshare guys they are all over the place in PDC on 5Th Ave. They have cleverly turned Tequila shops into timeshare bait houses! The timeshare guys work at the shops, measure you up and then bait you with free Tequila to take the timeshare spiel.

Hey,
I'm a travel agent so....
This is what i have found -
1) The Mayan ruins of Tulum, Coba and Chichen Itza - Historical and nice, don't know if your into that kind of thng??
2) Diving Lessons is meant to be a must from the feed back we have had??
3) Shopping is a big past time, so if your anything like me you'll be well away.
4) There are also loads of activities on most beaches, such as snorkelling, cycling, kayaking, horse riding, nature trails, dolphin swim encounters

Hope this helps & enjoy!!
www.playadelcarmen.com - havn't looked at it could give you some more info!!

Too many things to do there at Playa del Carmen.

At "playa" you can swim or play voleyball (if it is in the tropic at least)

BUT, I'm here just to say the next:

"playa" means "beach", you are asking What to do at the beach?

Playa del Carmen translation would be Del Carmen Beach.

Please, don't call Playa del Carmen only Playa, it is like calling Miami Beach only Beach.

And also, please don't call Cabo San Lucas only "Cabo".
"Cabo" means "Cape" (San Lucas cape would be the translation).
