Can cun, all inclusive or not?

So now that i have decided to go, should i go for all inclusive? hotel food is usually crappy but this may be different in cun, what about the drinks, sure its all you can drink but are they water down? you know the say you get what you pay for.. is that the case here?

You don鈥檛 have to worry about bad restaurants in Cancun. You may come across restaurants that you like better than others, but you鈥檙e not going to find a bad restaurant. As far as hotel restaurants not being as good as a restaurant on the street, you鈥檒l quickly find that some of the best restaurants on the strip (and even in the city) are in the hotels. Your not going to find watered down drinks at any of the hotels, but the same cannot be said for some of the clubs.

Choosing whether or not to stay at an all-inclusive hotel or not depends on your length of stay and your pocketbook. If you鈥檙e going to stay in Cancun for only a week, and your taking the kids, then your best bet would be an all inclusive resort. Choosing an all-inclusive resort ensures that all your meals and drinks are will be supplied at almost anytime day or night. On the other hand all-inclusive resorts are very expensive, and leaving the hotel to test the fair at other restaurants is an expensive waste of the all-inclusive money you paid to your hotel. As a general rule all-inclusive hotels charge anywhere between $75.00 and $150.00 per day per person just for the all-inclusive portion of your stay. Lets say on average the all-inclusive rate is $100.00 per day per person. There is no way in hell that you can eat and drink $100.00 worth of food and drink every day that your there. Stays longer than a week I would suggest staying at a non all-inclusive hotel.

Staying at a non all-inclusive hotel gives you the best bang for the buck. You have the freedom to dine anywhere in Cancun and not feel guilty that your not wasting money because you鈥檝e already paid $100.00/day for a meal at your hotel that you鈥檙e not eating. Non all-inclusive hotels are always cheaper, which leaves you more money (a lot more money) to spend on the things that make a vacation great 鈥?tours up and down the Riviera, beer tasting, restaurant hoping, clubbing, beer tasting, shopping for those 鈥済otta-have-its鈥? fishing trips, beer tasting, car rentals to drive throughout the Yucatan and Central America, beer tasting, and a myriad of other things. Did I mention beer tasting?

I hope this helps.

First make sure the resort you choose hasn't been damaged by the hurricane. I was there in April, '06, and there was still evidence of the hurricane that hit the year before. Ask about the resort beach - they were rebuilding our beach, which was disappointing.

As far as all inclusive or not, a lot will depend on which resort you go to. The one we stayed at had maybe three or four different restaurants you could eat at and that way there was a nice choice. Obviously, a top notch resort will most very likely have better food than a lower level one.

If you bring children it麓s okay because they will stay at pool most of the time.
But if you are coming only adults, I think it would be better to get only breakfast so you can go around to visit Chichen-Itz谩, Xcaret, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Tul煤m, and many other places. To visit that you need whole day, so you will be eating not only out of hotel, but out of city.
