What kind of animals will i see in playa del carmen?

You will see alot of drunken white hairy sun-burnt Caucasians that appear to act like monkeys. Don't feed them and what ever you do, don't make any quick movements.

If you rent a small boat to scuba dive or snorkel you can see dolphins, turtles, if you are lucky you will see seals, all kinds of fish, rays and exotic birds everywhere.

In Playa del Carmen itself, mostly party animals as mentioned. But you will also see seabirds, birds, fish, Iguanas, etc. I don't think you'll see a seal though as Freedom mentions, to my knowledge the only native species is now extinct. (perhaps he's aware of something I'm not)

If you get away from the city and into more remote places you'll have a better chance of seeing more wildlife.
