Yes I am going to Playacar ot the end of the month.......?

Has anyone been there recently and how are the beaches.. I have read so many reviews about them being washed out and small....we are staying at RUI in Playacar and curious about the beach erosion??

Although the beaches have been affected, they are not destroyed. We have stayed in Playacar before...at the Gala specifically and have visited the Playa del Carmen area many times. If your specific beach is a bit rocky or with coral, take a walk down to the Gala beach as it is very nice. I actually think the Riu is across the street from the beach but am not certain.

Playacar is cool because it has its own shopping area but definitely take a cab....or walk....into the town of Playa del Carmen. I have watched it change over the years from a small village to a built up stop for the cruise ships. You can feel free to eat and drink safely both in your resort and in town.
