How are the beaches in playa del carmen since the latest hurricane?

In fact some of the beaches in Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos are better after the last hurricane. The beaches affected negatively during the last storm where the ones in right on Cancun.

The beaches are looking good. I was just there in April. You'll still see some areas that are under construction, but don't worry, the town and the beaches are recovering nicely.

I was recently at the Grand Mayan and it was gorgeous. The beaches and setting is beautiful. Although, Cancun was still under construction and there were a few places shut down.

The beaches are in very good shape. The hotels took the beating, however, they have mostly recovered with a lot of remodeling going on. You will not have a problem with the sand and the sun will be blazing.

The latest hurricane hit Cancun (Wilma), not Playa del Carmen. Beaches are beautiful here and what you see in "construction" is only brand new projects in town.

I strongly recommend you Punta Esmeralda, Playa del Secreto y Playa Mamitas, these are the best!

I live in Playa. The beaches are great. You would never know a hurricane hit here. You will see a lot of construction going on, and all of that is new. Come, enjoy.
