All inclusive resorts in Playa del carmen?

we're looking to go in the fall, is this a good time to go? and we've been looking at the Royal Hideaway ....has anyone ever been? how was it? Who should I book through?

T..thanks for the info! now the $400 and whatever it was includes everything right?? are there packages for like a 5 night get away? How can i get in touch with you?

Don't know anything about the Royal Hideway. My wife and and couple of our friends went to Playa last May. We stayed at the all inclusive Viva Wyndham Maya. Great beach. Good food at the buffet. Had four separate restaurants on site. All had excellent food. Good entertainment at night. One night each week local artists are invited into the resort to sell their crafts. My wife bought some nice Mexican jewelry. My buddy bought a marble chess set. Learned some new Salsa dance moves from the staff. You can walk down the beach and use the facilities at their sister location the Viva Wyndham Azteca. We never went because the Maya was just beautiful. The resort was set up with thatch covered walkways wandering through a Mexican forest with a recreation of Mayan ruins. We went for !!!!!!!!! $158 !!!!!!!! per night per room. That's right, not per person, per room. I just checked the Maya and for this May the rate is 195. Still awefully good.

The Akumal Beach Resort is currently running a special for (hold onto your hat) !!!!!!!!!! $144 !!!!!!!!!!!! per night PER ROOM. Never been there but I'm tempted to try it. It has gotten good reviews on Expedia.com.

Me, I just love looking all over the internet for specials at nice resorts. If you have the time and do your research and are patient you'll be surprised how nice a resort you can get for a great price.

If you have the time take a day trip by ferry over to Cozumel on Sunday. Every Sunday at 6:00 pm almost the entire island comes to the town of San Miguel. They have a band in the town square that plays Mexican music. You can interact and talk with the locals.

Another nice day trip is to the Mayan ruins of Tulum. Go with a guide. You will learn much more about the ruins and Mayan history. Also, try to go to Xel Ha. It is a natural oceanic inland estuary. You can swim with dolphins. Or take an inner tube float down a river that starts far from the ocena where an underground cenote (river) begins. The water has very low salt content at the beginning. As you float closer to the ocean the water begins to warm and become saltier as it mixes with the ocena water. You can do Aqua Trek there. It is a underwater walking tour where you wear a helmet on your head and walk along the bottom of the ocean. Air is supplied to you through an air hose connected to a compressor on the surface.

Have a great time at the Royal Hideaway. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the all inclusives in the Playa area.

I work from home doing Travel and can get you some info....Royal Hideaway is showing 482.00 a night. Not sure what price range you are looking at. That is for a luxury room with 2 queen beds. Hurricane season is from June- November though. We ususally go in October and have not had any issues.

My wife and I went this past fall and it was really nice....very warm. We did not stay at the same resort as you. Make sure to check out a place called Xelha near Playa (if you like snorkeling).

You can find the best all inclusive packages here http://www.how2vacation.com/VacationPack...

There are many sites on the web to gather information.

Here are a few very reliable websites.

http://www.tripadvisor.com
http://www.aa.com

Be very careful where you book a trip. Make sure it's a reliable travel source. Scams are out there.

Just remember hurricane season June 1 to Nov.30th Worst time for storms Aug, Sept and Oct.

Good Luck and have a great trip.

I haven't been to the Royal Hideaway but I've heard good things about it. I do think fall is a great time to go. My wife and I would book last minute and get great deals in the fall.

When we travel in the fall we always look at the tropical storm tracker on wunderground and try to avoid any troubles.

Here's the link for that:
