Going to mexico and was wondering if in tourist areas will they accept U.S. Money? Only in large resorts. Everything else is in Pesos. You also get a lousy exchange rate if you try to spend US dollars U.S. money is accepted pretty much anywhere in North America. Some of the real south parts may not, but the tourist areas usually ONLY accept American money. We went to Cancun and Mayan Riveria a few years ago, and all the tourists use American money there. Right on the border usually accepts USD. You'll find in most tourist places they will. greenbacks us money is the best to travel with, anywere in the world more less ive always found better to haggle with an is worth the most , its your best bet. yes,in torist areas, like hotels, they do...but it will be better for you to enchanga your money fist, at a good rate, maybe in a bank, and just carry pesos...good trip if you come to cancun you can expend dollars everywhere Most tourist places do take the money but at a bad rate, you will be better off to exchange ahead of time or use your debit card. IT'S MORE THAN WELCOMED. |

I just got back from Playa two weeks ago with wife, and would highly recommend it. Unlike Cancun, Playa retains charm and local flavor. Here's the real question you need to ask: what do ... Wait till you get there ... much better idea of what's available and probably cheaper ...There are two things you need to consider: where you want to be and how much you want to spend.
