Riu palace mexico-what room type is best for me? |
can someone give me a description of what their rooms were like at the Riu Palace Mexico in Playa del Carmen? I would like something more luxurious but not the most expensive. Were the rooms decorated nicely? I know I wont be staying in the room that often, but this is my first real vacation and I want everything to be nice. No 70's style curtains and bedspreads! I think our agent is booking us a Junior Deluxe suite. Can I please have some feedback on what your suites were like? I have been to the RIU Palace Mexico twice. It is a great facility. The basic rooms are "suites" in the fact that they have separate bed and sitting areas. There is a step down into the TV/sitting area from the bedroom. My husband and I recently stayed at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya and the rooms are nearly identical but they have a whirlpool feature in the bathtub. The decorations at the Palace Mexico in the rooms are not "70's" style, but not high design by any means. I laughed the last time we were there because our room did not look into the fountains in the center of the resort, but rather to the outside with many decorative "ruins" (like very Roman looking columns). Trust me, with the service, food, and drink of the RIU hotels you will feel luxurious! Email me if you have questions! I can't describe that hotel unfortunately, but I would highly recommend you check out Y! Travel, Fodor's and the actual hotel website. I've been to playa del carmen and love it! I have stayed at the RIU in Cabo San Lucas, jr suite and it was very nice. Large room with little sitting area. It had a mini bar with beer, water, and sodas - refilled daily. Look at the I was there last year & the rooms were large with a step-down couch/tv area separate from the main bed area. I heard that the only better rooms have a whirlpool on the balcony, but I don't love hot tubs so that wouldn't be something I'm interested in paying more for. a room with a great view. |
