What are good things to pack when traveling to the Riveria Maya? |
In July, to Playa Del Carmen for a week at an all inclusive resort? Oh...I am jealous! I just went to the Riviera Maya 7 days ago and I am ready to go back!!! I over packed...can't lie about it! Most importantly you are going to want several swimsuits! The water is beautiful and the snorkeling amazing. I overpacked on shorts and shirts because I didn't realize that I would be in the water so much! IMPORTANT: if you are staying in an all inclusive resort you need to check dress code for dinner! Our resort had 11 restaurants that required long pants for men and no beach wear at dinner (except at the buffet, but who wants a week of buffets!) We met a really nice couple at the resort that didn't pack dress pants etc. and had to eat at the buffet every night! Don't be that person! The days are hot, but spent in the water and at the swim-up pool bar, the heat doesn't matter. At night it was still quite warm, so think light weight fabrics that will keep you cool! Don't pack items that need much ironing...we were at a fabulous all inclusive, but the iron was ATTACHED to the mini (dorm size) ironing board. It was almost impossible to get anything ironed and looking good. a tooth brush Plenty of sun block, MP3 player, book or Magazines if you read a lot. Light clothing of course. Drive down to Tulum if you haven't been there- the best beach (the one by the ruins). Was just there again a few months back. I'm jealous! extra copies of your important paperwork, bug spray in case you do any day trips. Bug pray, sun screen, a towel,just in case, a extra pare of underwear, 2 shirts, good hiking boots, and basically that would be in. Remember to keep hydrated. dont know One or two anti-diarrheal pills and Gator Aide (just in case), min. 45 sun block and Off bug spray. Stay hydrated and travel light. Because you WILL live in your bathing suit! |

Many reviews are very mixed regarding the resort. The majority seem to rate the food as average. Morever, than food is the false facade of safety and security. Please read and share www.brentmid... You can't apply for a passport online. Go to your state's website and they should tell you which bueracratic agency deals with passports. You will then have to bring your birth certific... Lot of things to do in the area - 5th ave in Playa del Carmen has a ton of shopping and many restaurants and bars. If you are looking for "hot spots" for night life and such just walk dow... The beaches are. The resorts usually have restrictions though. they usually state that it is not allowed at the pool but at the beach it is fine. The beaches aren't controlled by the hotel ... I haven't been to the RIU Riviera Maya but I went to the RIU Tequila which was AMAZING! I would definitely recommend this chain of hotels as the foods awesome, the drinks are very good & ... prettiest and cheapest in the same request ?? If going to Tenacatita cheaper to fly into Vallarta and bus down. Very little in Tenacatita except the beach ... I went to Cancun back in early May (April 29-May 6). Its pretty hot down there. They have mostly american restaurants but they serve mexican food in places. Go to Chichen Itza or some of the ruins,... If they do you probably wouldn't want to smoke them anyway. My experience they tasted really old in Mexico. ... |
