I got a check from AEROMEX for lost luggage. the letter says their limit of loss is 1,000.00SDR's. What is SDR

I thought I read somewhere the limit for international travel was $400.00 per bag, yet they say their limit is 1,000.00SDR's. the check was for over $1400.00USD, so I am assuming SDR's is a unit of currency, but whos?
