I need your help...? |
What do you know about living in Phoenix? I am planning on moving to Phoenix by the end of the year, so I wonder what life would be there and what to expect? I mean jobs, schools, and real estate. The is a huge amount of jobs out here, the housing market is bad right now, schools are great. I have ben out here for 18 years and will never leave. My grandparents live in Arizona, and they tell me its sweltering in the summer but they rest of the year its pretty nice, now if your talking people, I couldn't tell you, I would assume that they are just like any other big city...... I don't know what you do for a living, but if you check out Craig's List there are tons of jobs available in the area. If you are a teacher you can be guaranteed of a job. This city is growing by leaps and bounds and it has beautiful homes, great schools and fun things to do. Yes it is HOT in the summer, just like it COLD where other people live in the winter. We just spend our summers in A/C's areas like cold weather people spend their winters in heated spaces. Almost every home has a pool in the back yard and our zoo, the mountains and so many other wonderful things to offer. The people here are nice, I've lived here 22 years and people open doors for you, they are the most generous of people when something bad happens...it is a mixed community of all ethnicity and a wonderful place to live. If you have any specific questions, just email me. First, where are you from? I am from New York but have lived in Arizona (metro Phoenix area) for the last 9 years. The only reason I am here is because of my husband's job. We are now in the process if high tailing it out of here to go back east. The weather is beautiful most of the time but the summers are brutal. Culturally, it is an abyss! Not a whole lot going on here...other than the ongoing debate about illegal immigration. Phoenix likes to think it's a big city but they are so far behind - no real public transportation (buses are limited and they are in the process of messing up all the roads downtown to put in this ridiculous "light rail"). There are no true restaurants - the majority of them are chains. There are many more...just do a little research. It's got its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are the job growth, relatively affordable housing, interesting scenery, beautiful sunsets and warm winters. which country is Phoenix in? Tremble you weaklings, cower in fear |
