Is West Lower Buckeye RD in Phoenix a dangerous area?

Going to the Ritchie Bros. auction there and was wondering about the area, I see it is far south of I 10 on 5410 West Lower Buckeye Road. Is that the area they call south side?

Yes it is a bad area take an armed guard with you!!!!! I work in that area and I am armed.

Well, it is not the "best" area but there are worse areas in phoenix. I have been to the auction there and I wasn't at all intimidated by the surroundings. Phoenix is a fairly safe city during the day time...but this area isn't going to be so great during the night. Use your head, do not start anything with anyone and mind your own business...you will be fine. Good luck at the auction ; )

look around the area you are going, check out the view, if it looks like you don't belong, then I would say, it could be dangerous. Never travel anywhere alone in those areas especially at night.

The closer you get to southern Phoenix, the more apt for incident, but..that was in the 90's, so it could either be better or worse now

During the day you should be fine. Its not the best area as the other response mentioned. An long as you dont plan on walking the area at night, you should be fine.

YES ITS HORRIBLE it is the southside. true fact.. the nonly nice parts there is Laveen (51st Ave and Baseline) much better .
