Road trip to california from phoenix ?

were taking a road trip to L.A. from PHX does anyone know any good places to stop on the way food wise or sight wise

Palm Springs.

Palm Springs is nice - lots of shopping centers and restaurants.

This is going to sound weird, but Quartzsite has a good Mexican restaurant right off the 10. Quartzsite is a quirky little place near the border of California and Arizona, buzzing during the winter with snowbirds and abandoned in the summer.

There's always the Colorado River in Blythe.

And, if you're into casinos, there's Casino Morongo off the 10 in Cabazon, CA.

Oh, and there is a great outlet mall (2 actually) right down the street from the Casino.

And, there's a Hadley Fruit Orchards in Cabazon, which serves the best date shakes anywhere.

All these places are right off the 10 going from Phoenix to Los Angeles.

There's not much from Phoenix until you get to Indio, CA. Checkout the Casinos. You can't miss them.

I haven't made this trip often, but I do remember that you will want to fill up with gas before you cross into CA. Gas here is usually 10-30 cents more expensive. Have a good trip.
